KIDNAP RONNIE BIGGS (1 x 60 mins, Channel 4)

In 2001 after thirty six years as a fugitive from British justice - Great Train Robber Ronnie Biggs gave himself up. He left Brazil where he had lived since 1970 ready to serve his sentence for his involvement in the biggest heist in criminal history.
Twenty years earlier in 1981 another man was flying to Brazil ready to execute an audacious plan to kidnap Biggs from Rio and return him to Britain. With ex-British military personnel, Ronnie Biggs was snatched from Rio de Janeiro then transported by land, sea and air to Barbados a country that vitally had an extradition treaty with Britain. The plan was a brilliant success.
